DEMCON Demolition Contractors is activated in the sector of Conventional and ExplosiveDemolitions,emphasizing the importance of “GREEN DEMOLITION”. It is playing a leading part in Greece on ecology and environmental issues, since it recycles completely all the materials that follow the various stages of demolition. According to the European models, it has contracted convention of waste management, aim of which is the prevention of creating waste from building work, demolitions, work of technical infrastructures, excavations and besides their re-use, their recycling and their exploitation with the use of "clean" technologies. Therefore, it provides in fact for the protection of environment and in addition for the future of our children.
DEMCONprovides completed solutions of demolition taking seriously under consideration the particular conditions of each work. In the new activities of company are included the services of adviser of demolitions that are provided for any work. In every case precedes the development of a study from an experienced, well trained technician and then the advisable methodology for sure, more rapid and more economic implementation of work is proposed. The demolition of a building constitutes a very complex and dangerous work and it requires experienced, suitably trained personnel and right planning in the implementation of work, so that it is completed with safety on time.
The Safety of our employees, all the parts that contribute in our work but also neighbours constitutes for DEMCON absolute priority. The policy of our company is to undertake and to execute work according to the international regulations and laws that go for the demolition industry, without making any "discount" on safety issues, that may cost someone’s life.
Towards this direction, DEMCON possesses the essential certification for the Safety and the Health in Work from international organisms as the National Association of Demolition Contractors (N. A. D. C.) , International Society of Explosives Engineers (ISEE), European Agency of Occupation Safety and Health (O. S. H.). At the same time, it considers essential that all workers must possess certificates of training from the international organisms on the Safety and the Health in the Work in the sector of Demolitions. It applies in every work the Program of Danger Communication, the Program of Recording and Evaluation of Dangers, it keeps to the safety models in the Equipment of Protection and applies Periodical Medical Check-up for all the employees.
In our effort to shape better conditions of work and to prompt to this direction and the responsible Authorities of our country, we have proceeded in the translation of Handbooks of Safety on the work in the sector of demolitions: Handbook of Safety 2005, Handbook of Communication of Danger 2006
DEMCONis the only company in Greece that has gained honorary discriminations for her active attendance in international organisms and for the observation of Safety in the Work. In 2005 extracted honorary discrimination from the international organization NADC National Association Demolition Contractors for the absolute observation of safety conditions. In 2006 gained the European Reward of Good Practice in the sector of professional safety and health from Agency for Health Safety at Work (O.S.H.). In 2009 ensured her attendance in the International Rewards of Demolition Awards, because it completed with absolute success one of the most difficult, technical demolitions in the centre of Thessaloniki.
DEMCONhas accomplished to gain the respect of international companies and to collaborate with them in the implementation of very dangerous work. That fact is owed at a very big percentage in the education of personnel according to the international models and in the observation of Safety conditions and it proves in fact that the company follows the right Safety Policy.
Another avant-garde for the Greek reality constitutes the attendance in the international press with many articles and rich photographic material from eachwork and the safety measures that apply in them. Magazines as the "DEMOLITION " of N. A. D. C. and the official magazines of international organizations International Society of Explosive Engineers (I. S. E. E.) and European Demolition Association (E. D. A.) have occasionally entertained articles and press released, that concerned DEMCON’s work.
In consequence of our effort for the modernization of demolitions and the configuration of better conditions of work, we will familiarize you regularly so much in our site what in relatively blogs with technical articles that will concern so much the safety in the sector of demolitions what new techniques that are applied in the abroad. Particular accent will be given in the right estimate of work and in the choice of suitable methodology simultaneously with the imposed metres of safety. At the same time, it willbe doneextensive report on the right co-ordination of demolition and the implementation of the suitable methodology, particularly in cases where exist adjacent buildings, because all that we dealt with the demolitions we have occasionally become witnesses of serious damage and accidents due to the application of erroneous methodologies or the luck of well technically proficient personnel.
